Overview

Our hardest week in Oman — and it is genuinely hard. This is not a guided sampler. It is built for fit, experienced mountain athletes — sport climbers, alpinists, canyoneers and cavers — who are comfortable on rope and can abseil unsupervised. If you have never abseiled before, this tour is not for you. In eight days you cross one of the world's largest cave systems on the 7th Hole → Tahry through-trip (15 hours, four big pitches of 90 m, 50 m and 110 m plus around 15 smaller ones, including a crystal chamber you will not find in any guidebook). You descend Umq Bir — 12 km of continuous swims, abseils and scrambles through narrow limestone, one of the longest and most committing canyons in Oman. You walk the exposed W6 Balcony with its via ferrata finish, and summit Jebel Shams via the W4 north-face route — Oman's highest peak, 1,500 m of elevation gain, 24 km, 10 hours on the move. We round it off with a deep water solo session above the Sea of Oman and a sunset wander through Mutrah Souq. Group size is capped at 6. You should be very fit, confident on rope and abseil, and able to move 10–15 hours back-to-back. Mountain hotels and seaside guesthouses every night, all meals included, all technical gear provided.
