Overview

Snake Canyon is one of the most iconic canyoning destinations in Oman — a long, winding limestone gorge carved through the Western Hajar mountains. Named for its serpentine shape, the canyon delivers a true rope adventure: narrow corridors you can only reach by swimming, dramatic walls, emerald pools, natural water slides and several rappels. The descent involves 3 guided rope drops, the longest around 20 metres. Despite the rappels, the route stays accessible to motivated beginners — a moderate comfort with heights and basic swimming skills are all that's required. Our guides handle all the technical rigging and assist on every drop. After a short approach hike, you drop into the canyon and progress downstream for around 5–6 hours through swims, scrambles, slides and rappels. Summer is the best season to escape the heat in the cool canyon water. In winter, we provide a wetsuit on request so you stay comfortable. All technical gear (helmet, harness, ropes, life jacket, waterproof bag) is included. Transportation from Muscat is available as an optional add-on.

  • Beginner-friendly canyon — no experience needed, all gear provided
