
Oman's climbing season runs roughly from October through April. Outside those months it's simply too hot on the lower walls. November to February is prime — long, cool days and stable weather.
Most crags around Balad Sayt are bolted limestone, French grades 4 to 7b+, with a handful of harder projects. Approaches are short. Belay ledges are comfortable. The rock is mostly bullet-hard with the occasional sandy patch on newer routes.
A first week typically looks like two days of climbing, a wadi rest day, two more climbing days, and a final day of trekking on the canyon rim.
